This morning we drive through a harsh and stony desert. There are many rivers along the piste but the rivers are not like the ones we are used to in Norway, - filled with running water. Here, it is water maybe once a year during rainy season. For the moment there is no water, only humid earth. Here and there there are a few persons, one is stuck with his moped, empty on gasoline. Others are caring for their donkeys, camels or goats. We stop a few times to give them some water, bread or olives. These are natural gifts in this harsh environment and also what they ask for. After passing the stony desert we arrive in an area with oasis. There are palm trees and small villages along the route. We pass Forum Sgid which originally was the campsite for yesterdays etape. We are now some hours behind the rally but no worries, we are here for the adventure not for the competition. Today both me and Morten and Team Bilnor are happy to take time to stop a few places and spend time among some people not only in the car. We eat kebab and buy some supplies as dates and tea.
